
Classic Smash Burgers w/ Cheese and Balsamic Onions
Description
Juicy Flavourful Burgers. Easy to make and loved by everyone!
Serve with Savory Sweet Potato Wedges to make it a meal.

1. Set Oven to 450° F. If making sweet potato wedges, start those first.

2. Gather and prepare Ingredients
- Slice red onions thin about .5 cm (1/4 inch)
- Dice pickles very finely
- Slice tomatoes about .5 cm (1/4 inch)

3. Prepare Balsamic Onions
- Heat fry pan over medium heat and add 1 tbp cooking oil when hot.
- Add onions and cook about 4 mins until soft, stirring occasionally. (You can start step 4 while onions are cooking)
- Add sugar to onions and continue cooking until unions are a dark golden brown, about 8 minutes.
- Remove onions from heat and add basalmic vinegar and salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove onions from pan and cover to keep warm.

4. Burger Patties
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, burger seasoning together.
- Divide into four portions and shape into balls.
- Smash each beef ball into a patty about 1 inch thick
- When onions are removed from pan, add beef patties and cook 4-5 mins per side.
- When done, remove patties from pan and place on baking sheet, top with shredded cheese and place on lower oven rack.
- Slice open brioche buns and place open on upper rack (there should be room beside wedges. (Use another baking sheet if you prefer)
- Leave in oven about 4-5 mins until cheese melts ad buns are toasted.

5. Make Burger Sauce
- Mix together bbq sauce, mayonnaise, pickle, white wine vinegar, sugar and salt.

6. Assemble Burger
- Place about 1/2 tbp of sauce each on both sides of bun.
- Place burger on bottom bun and top with basalmic onions
- Divide spring mix between top buns and add tomato
- Serve with sweet potato wedges and extra burger sauce for dipping.
